Store Policies

The Kitchen Depot

Last updated: September 4, 2025

Welcome to The Kitchen Depot. We built this brand to make the heart of the home strong, stylish, and effortless. These policies explain how we process orders, ship, handle returns, protect your data, and support you. If anything is unclear, email us at contact@thekitchendepot.com

1) How Our Model Works (Automated Dropship Fulfillment)

  • Direct-to-you shipping: Most items ship directly from our vetted fulfillment partners (domestic US or international). This keeps prices fair and selection fresh.

  • Auto-ordering: When you place an order, our system forwards it to the best available supplier for speed and stock.

  • Multiple parcels: Your order may arrive in separate packages if items ship from different locations.

  • Stock changes: If a product becomes unavailable after purchase, we’ll offer a quick replacement or a full refund.

2) Order Processing & Payment

  • Processing time: 1–3 business days (Mon–Fri) before shipment. Large/peak seasons may require an extra 1–2 days.

  • Payment methods: Major cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal (availability may vary).

  • Authorization & checks: To prevent fraud, we may verify orders (e.g., billing/shipping mismatch). Orders we cannot verify may be canceled and refunded.

  • Pricing: Prices are shown in USD and may change without notice. Promotions/coupons can’t be applied retroactively.

  • Sales tax: Where required by law (e.g., deliveries into California), applicable tax is added at checkout.

3) Shipping Policy

Destinations: USA (all states). Select international destinations may be supported; options appear at checkout.

Estimated delivery timeframes (after processing):

  • US-stock items: 2–5 business days (UPS/USPS/FedEx).

  • International suppliers (e.g., Asia “special line”): typically 7–15 business days; some remote areas 10–20.

  • Peak seasons / weather / customs can add several days. We’ll keep you updated via tracking.

Tracking: A tracking link is emailed as soon as a label is created. If you don’t see it, check spam or contact us.

Shipping fees: Shown at checkout. From time to time we offer free shipping thresholds.

Customs & duties (non-US orders): Unless stated otherwise at checkout, international deliveries are Delivered Duties Unpaid (DDU). The recipient is responsible for local duties/taxes.

PO Boxes & military addresses: Some carriers/suppliers can’t deliver to PO/APO/FPO/DPO. If an address is unsupported, we’ll email you for an alternative.

Address accuracy: Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. Orders delivered to the address provided are considered fulfilled. If a package returns due to an incorrect/undeliverable address, reshipping costs may apply.

Lost/late packages:

  • Marked “delivered” but not received: please check with household members/neighbors and your local carrier first. If still missing after 3 business days, contact us and we’ll open a trace.

  • No movement for 10+ days (US) or 20+ days (intl.): email us so we can investigate and assist.

  • If a carrier confirms loss, we’ll reship or refund.

Signature on delivery: Not required by default. For higher-value orders we may add signature confirmation.

4) Order Changes & Cancellations

  • Change/cancel window: We start fulfillment quickly. If you need to modify or cancel, email contact@thekitchendepot.com within 1 hour of ordering. After the order is sent to a supplier, we can’t guarantee changes.

  • If an order has shipped, please follow the Returns process below.

5) Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

We want you to love your purchase. Please read carefully—kitchen goods often touch food, so hygiene matters.

Return window: 15 days from delivery. Contact contact@thekitchendepot.com for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) before sending anything back.

Eligibility (general):

  • Unused, undamaged items in original packaging with all inserts/accessories.

  • For food-contact items (e.g., platters, cutters, containers): must be unused and unopened for health/safety reasons.

  • Final sale items (if labeled), custom/personalized items, and gift cards are non-returnable unless defective.

Defective / damaged on arrival (DOA):

  • Notify us within 7 days of delivery with photos/video of the issue and packaging. We’ll replace or refund quickly.

  • For transit damage, keep all packaging as carriers may request inspection.

Return shipping costs:

  • Defective/Damaged/Incorrect item sent: we cover the return or provide a replacement/refund without requiring a return (“keep-it”) for low-value items at our discretion.

  • Change of mind / ordered wrong size: you cover return shipping. We can supply a label at our discounted rate (deducted from the refund).

Restocking: None for unopened items. For opened, unused items returned in saleable condition, a 10–15% restocking fee may apply to cover repackaging/inspection.

Refund method: Back to the original payment method once the return is received and inspected (typically 3–5 business days after we process it). Banking timelines may vary.

Exchanges: Easiest path is to place a new order and return the original for a refund.

Items that cannot be returned for safety/regulatory reasons:

  • Used food-contact items, used cutting tools, visibly worn/soiled textiles.

  • Any item exposed to food/oils/liquids and then opened/used.

6) Product Quality, Care & Safety

  • Natural materials: Many items (e.g., bamboo) are hand-finished and may vary slightly in color, grain, and texture—these are natural characteristics, not defects.

  • Care (bamboo & wood): Hand-wash with mild soap; do not soak or dishwash. Dry upright. Refresh with food-grade mineral oil as needed.

  • Care (metal tools): Hand-wash and dry promptly to protect edges/finish; dishwasher top-rack only if the listing explicitly says so.

  • Food safety: We partner with suppliers who provide material compliance documentation (e.g., food-contact safe).

  • Usage & safety: Sharp tools should be kept away from children. Always use products for their intended purpose and follow any instructions provided.

  • Warranty: Some items include a limited manufacturer warranty against defects in materials/workmanship; contact us and we’ll help facilitate claims. Everyday wear/tear, misuse, or improper care is not covered.

7) Pricing, Promotions & Gift Cards

  • Promo codes: One per order unless stated. Not redeemable for cash; not valid on previous purchases.

  • Bundle/BOGO terms: If a return breaks a bundle/BOGO condition, your refund will reflect the retained item(s) at their standalone price.

  • Pricing errors: If we list a product or shipping rate incorrectly, we may cancel the portion in error and issue a full refund.

  • Gift cards & store credit: Issued in USD; do not expire; not redeemable for cash except where required by law.

8) Reviews, Photos & Community Content
